Following his diagnosis of ulcerative colitis in 2008, midfielder Darren Fletcher talks about his fight against illness, the impact it had on his family and his career and his decision to have surgery which involved the removal of his large intestine.

In recognition of his fight and determination back to a professional career, Darren was awarded the Ian Wooldridge award.
